Percussion for Playboys… and Playgirls

Here at Higher-Than-Fi we dig Percussion of all stripes.  Take this record – Percussion for Playboys.  This is a sort of compilation from Omega record which is triply “lost” – it’s a long forgotten album (1) on a long forgotten label (2), but it’s also a long forgotten thrift store find from years ago that’s been languishing in my vinyl vault for years (3).  Imagine my delight when I unearthed it for last week’s show.

Music to clean your soiled underwear by

This week’s episode of Jet Set Planet – “The Week in Miserlou and Music from Russ Meyer Films” – is ready for your listening enjoyment.

Highlights include:
*What separates us from the apes?  Syd Dale and his tune “Walk and Talk” make it all so clear.
*How much groaning and sensuous overtones can one song have?  Find out when we hear “Lola Langusta.”
*Let’s take one more trip to the Bahi Hut and have one of those rum jugs he’s fermenting out in the  hot sun?

Be there, Aloha

Who ARE these people? And are they even people (and NOT a machine, or demons)?

On the next Jet Set Planet we’ll indulge in a bit of Ataraxia.  Human, Machine, Demon – when dealing with Ataraxia it’s hard to tell.  We’ll hear the tune I Ching which is not only unexplainable (as advertised) but it’s 3 minutes and 54 seconds of unexplainable.

Episode #437 of Jet Set Planet – “In EZ-Listening parlance, ‘Venga’ means ‘I need a shower while that flutey guy is playing’” –has a LOT going for it. From Ask Me to Cha-Cha-Cha to Sky Boats – this episode is pretty good – if I do say so myself (and I just did!)
Just GO HERE and have a looksee at the playlist.  Enjoy!
